The girls were encouraged to wear their favorite Mav's shirts during their last week at preschool. Since they didn't have a Maverick's shirt, their daddy took them shopping for some gear. Aaron didn't have much luck finding what I would call "girly" shirts in their sizes, but when paired with a skirt, pigtails, and some bows, these are pretty cute Mavs fans!
It's been a month since Ashlyn's 3rd birthday and I am just now getting around to updating our blog. I probably would have gone another month, but my friend Brook laughed at my poor blogging, so the pressure is on. I seriously don't know how she does it with three kids! I guess I am not using my time too wisely. The four of us celebrated Ashlyn's 3rd birthday with a trip to Build A Bear. The girls had a hard time deciding on an animal, but in the end, Ashlyn chose a dog and Makenzie chose a wolf. The girls had an even harder time choosing just the right clothes for their animals and were not too thrilled when mom and dad limited each child to one outfit. Yet as I type this, I am pretty sure neither of their stuffed animals has clothes on-go figure! After dinner and some play time at the fountains in Allen, we headed home for presents and dessert. I think one of the cutest moments of the day was Makenzie's excitement at watching Ashlyn open the gift she picked out for her. Makenzie could not wait for Ashlyn to see her new baby doll. These are the moments you cherish as a parent! Happy 3rd Birthday Ashlyn!! You continuously amaze us with your vocabulary. You make us laugh so much, especially at the dinner table with your silly expressions. You are obsessed with playing in our cars and pretending you are driving your "honeys" (baby dolls) to various places. You love being a big helper, especially to those who are younger than you. You are passionate about everything you do and want to do EVERYTHING by yourself. We are so blessed by your life!!
Makenzie loves her new crafts she received for her birthday. Here are a few pictures of Makenzie and her friend Kylie making cards and necklaces. I also went back to my photo library to see what pictures I have of these two girls together. My how they have changed and grown up! One of the things I enjoy most is listening to their conversations. They definitely keep me laughing!!!
